Laverock Law Cottages and Glamping

Eco-conscious cottages and glamping in a secluded wildlife-rich setting, with woodland, fires and easy access to coast and country.

Laverock Law certainly gives you plenty to think about when choosing where to stay, with five amazing options ranging from traditional cottages to a heart-shaped treehouse!

Set in two acres of woodland near Lowick, Skylark, Swallow and Woodpecker Cottages each have their own character, while the Harvest Hut and North Star Treehouse offer something a bit more unusual.

The three cottages

Skylark, Swallow and Woodpecker Cottages are all former farm-workers residents, lovingly transformed to provide spacious holiday accommodation. All have an open plan living space and 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 5 people but equally great for couples.

The Cottages all have cosy wood burning stoves, modern kitchens and private gardens as well as access to the woodfired sauna, large croft for games and dogs and the outdoor firepit.

The cottages can also be booked together for large family celebrations and reunions, a great place to all get together.

Or stay somewhere a bit different

Then you've got The Harvest Hut, a handcrafted shepherd's hut made using local timber. It sleeps two, or three if you're bringing a bairn with you, and somehow manages to fit in its own kitchen and a four-poster bed too.

Then there's the one that's particularly difficult to miss, North Star Treehouse. It's heart-shaped, built amongst the trees and sleeps two adults and two children. It has even appeared on Robson Green's Weekend Escapes, so there's a chance you might have already spotted it on the telly without realising it was near Lowick.

There's also the Heartwood wood-fired sauna overlooking the Cheviots. After a few hours exploring the hills, it looks like a great way to relax and unwind.

A good base for exploring

Once you've decided where you're sleeping, there's plenty around Laverock Law to get you back outside again.

You have the northern Cheviots in one direction and the Northumberland coast in the other. Birch is also a qualified mountain leader and offers guided walks in the Cheviots as well as walks across the Pilgrims Way to Holy Island. So you're staying with someone who knows exactly where to point you if you fancy getting the boots on.

More importantly, when I rang Birch he was baking carrot cake and lemon drizzle for his arriving guests. Guided walks and homemade cake. Now we're talking.
